What are the SDGs?

In 2015, the United Nations (UN) General Assembly adopted the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. This is a plan of action in favour of the people, the planet and general prosperity with 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and 169 targets.

Who can be certified as an SCG contributor?

Organisations of any size and from any sector can certify their contribution to all or any of the UN SDGs. In general, it’s the companies that play key roles in consolidating policies based on sustainability, innovation and ecological transition in their sectors of reference.

What advantages come with having your SDG contribution certified?

Applus+ Certification's specific system for certifying contribution to the SDGs takes into account all the principles of the 2030 Agenda and adds others that we consider necessary to allow companies and organisations to:

  • Have external recognition of their sustainability management
  • Clearly communicate this commitment to stakeholders
  • Generate trust and a sense of transparency in people and institutions
  • Identify future business opportunities
  • Gain compatibility with other voluntary or regulatory schemes related to the 2030 Agenda, such as certification of gender equality plans or verification of non-financial performance reporting or carbon footprint verification
