Applus+ Certification achieves Global Carbon Council (GCC) accreditation

08/06/2022

With this new accreditation, we continue to improve and expand our services aimed at combating climate change.

The Global Carbon Council (GCC) is a voluntary emissions offset programme that accepts Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emission reduction projects from all over the world. In particular, it places special emphasis on projects located in the Middle East and North Africa.

The Applus+ Certification team verifies carbon credit generating projects to assist companies and organisations worldwide in the process of measuring, improving and offsetting emissions. Importantly, now we can do so under the accreditation of the Global Carbon Council.

These projects aim to support the implementation of a sustainable, low-carbon economy in the regions in which they operate. GCC projects can measure impact on SDGs (optional and voluntary); also E+ (Environmental No-Net-Harm) and S+ (Social No-Net-Harm) labelling, as well as meeting CORSIA eligibility requirements.

Leaders in emission reduction and CDM certification

Applus+ Certification is a UNFCCC (United Nations) accredited certification body that works under the most rigorous and internationally recognised standards, such as UNFCCC CDM (Clean Development Mechanism); VCS (Verified Carbon Standard) or GS4GG (Gold Standard for the Global Goals).

We are committed to the fight against climate change and we are delighted to achieve GCC accreditation for this very reason.
