Applus+ certifies Liberbank to ISO 22320 standard

This international standard equips an organisation to manage and tackle emergencies.

Applus+ has certified Liberbank under the ISO 22320:2013 emergency management standard for the first time. The certificate was formally awarded on 15th January 2016 at Liberbank’s Plaza de la Escandalera facility in Oviedo (Asturias). It was presented by Federico Martinez, Director of Institutional Relations at
Applus+ Certification to Jesús Manuel Alvarez Muñiz, Liberbank’s Safety Director.
ISO 22320:2013 is a tool for the development of best practice in emergency response. From prevention and risk assessment through to emergency response and situation reversal, it supports an organisation in the creation of protocols and action plans with a view to minimising the potential consequences of such an emergency situation.
The project got underway with the certification of this Liberbank office in Asturias, but the plan is to implement the system, with subsequent certification, throughout Liberbank’s network of 1,044 Spanish offices. As such, Liberbank is set to become the first banking group to certify all of its customer-service facilities to UNE-ISO 22320:2013 standard.
By adopting and certifying this management system, Liberbank is demonstrating its commitment to its customers and employees in its desire to provide a service underpinned by all the necessary health and safety guarantees. This certification scheme entails external monitoring and recertification to ensure ongoing compliance with the requirements of the management system.
