Applus+ takes part in event on corporate compliance in occupational health and safety organised by the Xunta de Galicia

02/10/2017

This event looked at how recent legislative changes in the field of compliance affect organisations’ occupational health and safety policies and systems.

On 26th September, Applus+ Certification attended a technical workshop in Pontevedra on compliance and corporate criminal responsibility, specifically relating to the field of occupational health and safety.

Around 100 people took part in this training day organised by the Consejo General de Profesionales Compliance (Spain’s general council of compliance professionals) in partnership with ISSGA (the Galician regional government’s institute for occupational health and safety). The event provided an opportunity to assess the importance of regulatory compliance and the consequences of non-compliance – in particular, criminal responsibility in occupational health and safety.

Applus+ Certification gave a session on the certification of compliance management systems. Applus+ is one of the few Spanish bodies accredited to certify criminal compliance systems, which give companies a mechanism for monitoring and managing criminal compliance and crime prevention in the workplace.
