Events to be held in three Spanish cities in May

The Quirón group, in partnership with Applus+ Certification, is to run a series of technical workshops on the new ISO 45001 occupational health and safety standard.
The objective of these events is to explain the key changes to, and benefits of, ISO 45001 with respect to its predecessor, OHSAS 18001, as well as what is required to migrate between the two.
An initial session took place on 15th March in Madrid, run by José Manuel Portillo, Safety Coordinator at Quirónprevención, and Cristina Bachiller, Technical Director of Applus+ Certification. Following the success of this event, a second Madrid workshop was held last week.
ISO 45001 workshops have since been scheduled in six other Spanish cities, with events in Seville, Saragossa and Valencia due to take place in May.

The standard was officially published on 12th March and the following transition period set out:
    • OHSAS 18001 certificates will remain valid until 11th March 2021
    • As of 12th March 2021, all occupational health and safety management system certificates based on OHSAS 18001 will expire
