A technical workshop held at the Applus+ facility in Bellaterra (Barcelona) looked at the implementation and certification of compliance models, corporate criminal responsibility and the role of compliance officers.

On 16th November, Applus+ ran, in conjunction with law firm Rousaud Costas Duran, a technical workshop on crime prevention management systems.
At this event, Marina Ladaga, an associate at Rousaud Costas Duran, looked at the requirements and implementation of crime prevention management systems and the roles and responsibilities of those charged with ensuring compliance. The aim of this event was to highlight the importance of companies having robust, customised, value-added crime prevention systems.
Applus+ Certification Technical Director Cristina Bachiller outlined what was involved in certifying compliance management systems to UNE 19601 standard. She also stressed the need for an ethical culture shift within companies, as well as the importance of seeking certification through a recognised, experienced and prestigious body such as Applus+.
The event enjoyed a large turnout and attendees were given the opportunity to participate actively, ask questions and share their own experiences.
